12 Hour Prayer & Fasting Day April 2025 On Tuesday 8th April 2025, we are hosting our #PrayerandFastingDay2025 across our network in the UK. This time we 're pushing out the boat, and going for 12 hours, 9am to 9pm! One way to engage with this event is to join one or all of our three online sessions throughout the day, led by our three wonderful guest speakers. Taken straight from our Values, our focus for the day will be 'Hopeful People with Hope for all People.' How it works There are three online sessions spread throughout the day taking place and we'd love you to come along and join us. You can use the same Microsoft Teams link (see below) to join all of the sessions. Meet our speakers and find out a little more about our online sessions. Session 1: 09:00am - 10:00am Paul Frost, Chapel Homes, Corby Hope in the Real World Paul has been the minister of St John’s Church in Corby for the past 13 years. After setting up the Chapel Gym in 2016 (possibly the best equipped gym run by a church in the country!), Paul has developed a ministry among bodybuilders, fighters, and those journeying out of crime. With a Hope into Action house about to open, the Chapel Gym is looking to develop a wraparound package giving ex-offenders the very best opportunity for going straight. In addition to his love of Jesus Christ, Paul loves his family, football (LFC), and food. He is passionate about Corby and is a strong advocate for it’s local delicacies - square sausage and Irn Bru. Before Hope into Action, Stephen spent many years working in International Development, mostly in Asia. Stephen maintains an active interest in world affairs and keeps in contact with people working in tough places, some of whom we hope to hear from during this hour. As part of our theme for the day, 'Hopeful People with Hope for all People', this session will focus on the 'ALL people' part. We'll be praying for justice, restoration and hope in the world beyond our borders. She is a passionate advocate who believes in hope for all people, no matter what, God's love knows no bounds. Ever year Mary embarks on a pilgrimage with her mum to a village in Bosnia Herzegovina called Medjugorje. This is a place of Marian apparitions, messages of peace, hope and a call to return to God. Why does she keep going back? Join this session to find out. Join the meeting now Meeting ID: 384 878 198 32 Passcode: NM7LQ2M7 This is a day intentionally ‘set aside’ from what is a fast paced, often reactive workplace to slow down, pause, enquire of God, worship, give thanks and present our requests to the Lord. So, as well as the three sessions we are hosting, we would really like to encourage you to pause for 15 minutes or so, a couple of times throughout the day, and gather those around you to meditate and pray into some of the Hope filled versus found throughout the bible (scroll to the bottom of this page for some ideas). Set some alarms on your phone and deliberately commit to this opportunity. We’re expectant that our Father, who longs to bless us, will speak and be with us. If you have a space you’re happy to open and invite fellow pray-ers to attend why not host a prayer room! This could be anywhere! A church? A HIA office? Someone’s lounge?! Some people are comfortable just rocking up and praying out loud, others not so much. Consider ways people can engage, pray and hear from God in different ways. Be as inclusive as possible. As always, we’d obviously love for you to host your own prayer events. Whether it’s a team time of quiet reflection, a worship evening with an open invite, or a partner church hosting prayer stations, we’d love to hear about how you have spent this time. Please email Martha King with your mobile number if you’d like to be added to a WhatsApp group. Words, pictures and encouragements will be shared throughout the day. Prayer Times Prayer Prompts 10:30am-10:45am Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." 11:30am-11:45am Isaiah 40:31 "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." 1:45pm-2:00pm Romans 5:3-4 "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." 2:45pm-3:00pm Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." 3:30pm-3:45pm 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble." 4:30pm-4:45pm 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 "May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loves us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word." 5:30pm-5:45pm Psalm 119:114 "You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word." 6:30pm-6:45pm Romans 12:12 "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." 8:45pm-9:00pm A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You, and I hold onto the assurance that what I am praying for is already accomplished in the name of Jesus. Your Word promises, "no good thing does He withhold from those that was uprightly" (Psalm 84:11). I wait upon You for Your definition of the "good thing". You will not withhold from me. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: "I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."
